The Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC) invites proposals for continuing education sessions and architectural tours for the 2027 Conference on Architecture, taking place in Calgary from May 5 to 8, 2027.
The RAIC’s national event brings together architects, interns, students, and allied professionals to explore current and emergent thinking, research, and practice. It also provides a key opportunity to connect with colleagues and build professional networks, consistently identified by attendees as one of the most valuable aspects of the conference. The conference provides a platform to share work, exchange knowledge, and engage in critical dialogue on issues shaping architecture in Canada.
Proposal deadline: September 21, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. PT
Selected education sessions will be delivered live at the conference and will also be required to participate in a recorded on-demand version following the event to support accessibility and extend access to audiences across Canada.
Presenting at the RAIC 2027 Conference provides:
We welcome proposals from individuals at all career stages and encourage submissions from underrepresented groups in architecture and design.
Proposals must clearly align with one primary theme:
Session length: 60 minutes, 15 minutes for questions and discussion including
Learning outcomes: Provide four measurable learning outcomes
Format: In-person presentation. Sessions may be pre-recorded for on-demand access
Speaker Limit: Maximum two speakers per session. Presenter benefits apply to both speakers.
Title and Description:
Session detail and approach: maximum 150 words. Describe how your session will be structured and delivered. Include key topics, format (e.g. lecture, case study), and how you will engage the audience.

We are also accepting proposals for architectural tours that highlight Calgary’s dynamic built environment, foster engagement, dialogue, and inspiration throughout the conference. Proposals must be educational, accessible, and include clear learning goals.
